Funny--I always thought he was the nicer, more sensitive, twin,
slightly more responsible than Fred (he's the one who thinks they
shouldn't blackmail Ludo Bagman, though he ends up taking the letter
to Bagman from Fred's hand and mailing it himself, which I interpreted
as a gesture of solidarity with Fred against their meddling little
prefect brother. Also, it's George who (with Ginny) hugs their mother
when she arrives at Grimmauld Place, while Fred collapses in a chair.

If we must lose a twin, let it be Fred, who is a bit more of a bully
and probably the instigator in the mischief-making--but then poor
George would suffer the loss of his second self. He might even give up
mischief and entrepreneuring altogether out of grief and despair.
Better not to kill either twin and leave the other to mourn. If they
have to die, I think they'd prefer to die as they've lived--together,
just as Molly's boggart depicted them.

Carol, who thinks the twins will play an important role in VW2 and
survive at least till Book 7
