I think it was more a comment on curriculum than that he would be
the one to teach it. And in a way it fits with Umbridge, the
following year, saying that the MoM didn't want Snape teaching such
advanced potions.
Another thread was hashing over whether DD approved or knew that
Unforgivables were being taught. It might make sense that Illegal
Dark curses would be demonstrated to NEWT students. These students
are possibly going to be aurors or healers and will need to know
about them. Aren't we told that that the restricted section of the
library had dark art material for the 6th and 7th year classes?
So "if" Crouch!Moody is telling the truth, NEWT students learn about
dark curses but does that include unforgivables?
Sorry if I turned your post into something else. It's just sort of
interesting how one thought leads to another.
