Greetings from Hexquarters!

Just a quick reminder that off-topic  posts (entertaining as they are!)
are not permitted on this list. We require  that posts to the main list make 
a canon point and discuss the words or works of  JKR.
A number of threads recently (such as those on what constitutes the UK or  
the origins of particular phrases) have been treading very close to or over the  
edge of the on-topic/ off-topic divide and have been entrapping unwary 
newcomers  into sending in OT messages which the elves then have to send back.

We  have an entire HPFGU-OTChatter list for off-topic posts. It's
a fun and  friendly place where people enjoy talking about all sorts
of things, and it  can be found at:

By the same token, discussion of the new movie or its trailer  should
go to our sister movie group  at:

The original poster on the present movie-trailer related thread warned that  
it was bordering dangerously close to movie-contamination. Please heed 
warnings  such as these and make sure that replies do relate to the books and not 
solely  to the movie.
