Potioncat:
I think you may be right about the bluff.  On the other hand, I 
wonder if the Marauders didn't get into a little dark magic 
themselves and this map part of it.  A sort of "I'm a social drinker, 
he's a drunk" blindspot. So I'm waiting to see what turns up in the 
next 2 books. (Of course, would anyone let Harry keep the map if it 
was dark magic?)
