Reparo - Ron & Help with His Broken Wand

I don't think, after crashing his Dad's car into the Whomping Willow, 
Ron was in any mind-set to ask for help with his broken wand....

I don't think wands can be repaired...once broken, they aren't any 
good anymore...unless you count backfiring! (this came in handy down 
in the Chamber of Secrets, but I don't think it would be wise to use 
it all the time...suppose you forgot and really needed it!) 

I think, if Ron had asked, he could have gotten help "altering" his 
robe, but, as you suggest, kids are wont to ask adults for 
anything....unless it's money!
