Humm, this could drive one nuts! In Book 3, does Hagrid mention how he came into possession of Buckbeak? Rats, don't have my book here now, but can't recall Hagrid mentioning Buckbeak's origins. I think back on Kreacher injuring Buckbeak and wonder if this could have a connection--Book 5 already. Something along the lines of Kreacher trying to turn BB's loyalties from Sirius to the Death Eater cause. Could it be that one of the Death Eaters was BB's original owner and/or breeder?
