Nah.  His mysterious work is probably something along the line of 
trying to alert and recruit other werewolves for DD, just like Hagrid 
and the giants.  Yeah Lupin looks better in book 3, but that is more 
due to Harry seeing him as a mentor/father figure, and that has ended 
now that Sirius is here.  Also, if anyone in the Order were not being 
honest that they were loyal to DD, then Crookshanks would have 
probably bitten their ear off by now.  So, nah... Lupin and the rest 
of the Order are good and being honest to DD, IMHO.
