Ah, you see one thing, I see another; that's what makes it fun! ;-)
I'm not really considering the Ginny *helping* Harry part of it so
much as simply her ability to understand Harry's reactions &
emotions, to empathize with him. This is why I was arguing that
being Harry's girlfriend wouldn't be as tough for Ginny as it might
be for others [from Robert's original post]--IOW, that that big
obstacle of "No one could understand me" for Harry would be gone or
lessened w/ Ginny.
Anyhoo...note that I said I think it *will* draw them closer, not
that it already has. This is my take--that it *will* become more
important between them. Heck, Harry had to stop seeing her as Ron's
little sister w/ the embarrassing crush on him, and more as an
independent young woman who's looking at *other* boys now. :-)
Once again I'm at work, away from books [drat!], but have I made this
up, or didn't Ginny *remind* Harry at Grimmauld Place that she'd been
possessed by Voldy, too, and so she *does* understand some of what
he's experiencing? IIRC, it kind of startled Harry and took him
aback--as if it were something he'd never considered before. *I*
think this will come back to Harry in book 6 or 7 and he will turn to
her more.
But only JKR knows, and she ain't tellin'.
