Maybe there's hope that he'll start asking them soon. Here's the
passage from OoP that makes me think so:
"'Wait!' Harry shouted after her [Mrs. Figg]; he had a million
questions to ask anyone who was in contact with Dumbledore; but within
seconds Mrs. Figg was swallowed by the darkness" (OoP Am. ed. 24).
Also, a few chapters later, he has the opportunity to tell the Order
members that he want to know what's going on (90), and both Sirius and
Lupin indicate that they think he should be told at least something
about what's happening. Dumbledore also has discovered the
consequences of concealing things from Harry (last chapter of OoP).
Now granted, Sirius is dead, and Harry's contacts with Dumbledore are
limited and the relationship between the two has been strained. But I
think, now that he knows who Mrs. Figg is, that he'll accept one of
her invitations to tea (OoP Am. ed. 2) and use that opportunity to ask
some pertinent questions. Probably he'll see Lupin at Grimmauld Place
(or some new headquarters) and do the same. Maybe he'll even start
listening to Snape, who I think has been giving him useful information
all along, including what occlumency is and how to learn it.
So there's hope, assuming that Harry brings himself out of his anger
and depression, and his calm confidence at the end of OoP suggests
that he will.
Carol, who hope he'll ask the *right* questions, meaning those that
*we* want answers to!
