To me so far Voldemort hasn't been the most convincing of evil bad
guys. Although a couple of people are dead he has been consumed by
petty small scale tyrades (come on, ressurection isn't that big a
deal) and getting his hands on this prophecy. Where's the mass
murder? There isn't much behaviour to support the extent to which his
character induces fear in the WW (so far).

However, what if Voldemort isn't the ultimate bad guy in this tale? I
think he could merely be a pawn played by an even more evil overlord
(cue Slytherin) just as the DE are to him. He doesn't exactly have
the credentials to lead an attack against mudbloods now does he. It's
just like Super Mario where you've just about managed to kill the
guys protecting the huge baddie, and in your last breath you get in a
lucky shot, only for a bigger, steel reinforced and infinitely more
evil enemy to make an apperance.

I'm sure JKR wouldn't be so tacky, or if she would then it wouldn't
appear to be tacky at all, but it's an idea.

Jo, who really wants Voldemort to get down with his evil side. Post
haste.
