Sue's take on the whole Voldemort/MoM "thing"
Hind sight is 20/20. WE know it didn't work, WE can see what is
happening and all the ways Voldemort could have succeeded without
detection but we know things Volde doesn't. As has been stated so
many times, Voldemort is incredibly arrogant and he doesn't want to
get his hands dirty unless he has to. He sends other people to do
that. I personally doubt he planned anything. "Get Potter into the
MOM and GET MY PROPHECY" was probably the extent of his involvement
(after he failed to get in there as a snake anyway). "The Plan"
belonged to others, probabley L. Malfoy because he lived at the MoM
anyway, and HE is certainly arrogant enough to think he could get
whatever he wanted without a problem. For all we know, the person
who let Malfoy Sr. know Harry was on his way was Malfoy Jr.
Didn't get to proof read, hope it isn't too bad :)
