<<However, what if Voldemort isn't the ultimate bad guy in this tale? I
think he could merely be a pawn played by an even more evil overlord
(cue Slytherin) just as the DE are to him.
<tiny snip>
It's
just like Super Mario where you've just about managed to kill the
guys protecting the huge baddie, and in your last breath you get in a
lucky shot, only for a bigger, steel reinforced and infinitely more
evil enemy to make an apperance.
I'm sure JKR wouldn't be so tacky, or if she would then it wouldn't
appear to be tacky at all, but it's an idea.>>

Looking at it from a Mario POV, I'd have to agree that it's "similar". However, as for Voldemort not being the ultimate bad guy, I disagree. Just as in Mario you go through level after level, each level presenting itself with another one of Bowser's underlings if you will. Throughout the game you're well aware that although you're battling a specific underling, there's a bigger force out there that you know you will eventually have to reckon with. Your immediate goal is beating them but in the back of your mind your ultimate goal is beating Bowser (winning the game, saving the world, etc.). You have Mario/Luigi, Yoshi, etc. and Bowser/his followers. It appears to me very similar to the situation between Harry/Good guys and Voldemort/Bad guys. We have Harry battling an assortment of Voldemort followers and of course his immediate goal is to get through that "task" or situation but he knows ultimately, he must face Voldemort.
Kimberly, who hopes she didn't ramble too much
