Julie again:
Actually, I had been following the posts (Sirius/Tonks), and that
question still remains unanswered, mainly IMO because JKR would have
to answer it.
I do have a question about metamorphmagi. I know Tonks can change
her appearance...nose, hair, etc. My question: Are metamorphmagi
bound to change into human, or at least animate form? The Lexicon
stated that they can change their appearance at will (paraphrased)
but does anyone have evidence of their limitations? I read in one
post the opinion that they are limited by gender, possibly size. Is
this opinion or canon?
If, for example, metamorphmagi can change into the form of an
inanimate object, that would be incredibly useful in a fight like
the one at the MoM. "That hat rack just got Lucious!" But that
would be a camoumorphmagus...oh dear.
