I agree with you, take relationships.  Shippers point to scenes and say this 
has to be or that has to be.  I say nothing has to be.  Rowlings at this point 
could take relationships anywhere she wants and there is canon to support it. 
 I think the only thing that is clear is that somehow love is going to play a 
part in the defeat of Voldemort.

That doesn't mean Harry has to have a girlfriend.  Harry right now loves both 
Ron and Hermione.  The love the trio has for each other could very well be 
the love that defeats Voldemort.  Actually I think for that love to remain as 
strong as it is, none of them can be in a strong relationship especially not 
with another member of the trio, maybe after they finish school.

Actually I think the series will end without, Ron, Harry or Hermione being in 
a relationship.  I'm expecting only one relationship and that is 
Neville/Ginny.
