married professors?

I saw a question in the JKR interview (for the red-nose comic thing, 
I don't remember the name), where she was asked whether Hogwarts 
professors have spouses. JKR replied that, yes, some do, but she 
wouldn't/couldn't say more. Any thoughts on why we haven't seen them 
yet? (or even heard of them?) Does anyone think they will be 
important to the plot later on?
