As unprofessional as encouraging one of your students to 
conjure a fellow teacher in drag? Don't tell me there wasn't any 
other way to handle the situation. I'm sure if Neville's worst fear 
had been Harry or McGonagall, Lupin would have thought of 
something. 

There are other instances of unprofessional conduct from Lupin: 
not preparing a record of the topics covered for Snape, not 
turning in the Marauder's Map, not telling Dumbledore about 
Sirius's animagus ability and his knowledge of secret entrances, 
and not taking his potion. 

We've had the misfortune to view Snape mostly through Harry's 
eyes. If we'd been looking from Draco's POV instead, we might 
think he was an old softie, perish the thought!
