Let's say, it had happened this way: Lupin comes out of the shower, 
glances at the map and sees Pettigrew.  Do you think he would have 
dashed out without putting on his pants?  

I know both Harry and Snape somethimes dash off without telling 
anyone, but Lupin has no excuse this time.
