Of course it's because only Harry percieves the favoritism!
Actually, Quirrell mentions that Snape made himself unpopular when
he reffed the one quidditch game. So I'm sure his general approach
is well known by the teachers. And most likely commented on.
Now, if Harry will just hide in the wardrobe again so we can hear a
few conversations.
