I think that if Hermione had seen Snape's name, she would have 
mentioned it to Harry or Ron by now.  Granted, she didn't mention 
Lupin to them in POA, but they were fighting, and she did say 
several times "haven't you figured it out yet?" (paraphrased).  I 
don't think Hermione could have kept that juicy secret from them 
this long.
