I don't know about Luna, but here's my 2 knuts worth. I think that Severus was a Slytherin. I would think that not only would true Slytherin parents not want someone that was not a former Slytherin as HoH, but I would think that DD has chosen former students from the houses to be the HOH's...look at the others, McGonagall is prime example of Gryffindor, Flitwick is perfect for Ravenclaw, and with what little is shown for Hufflepuffs and Professor Sprout, how could you doubt that she was a Hufflepuff at school? So that said, Severus is also a perfect example for Slytherin...he has the thirst to prove himself, and given not only his feelings towards James, but what we see concerning his father, he probably feels that he has a lot to prove, especially to his father. I started to add that he is probably pure-blood and I still think that he probably is, but I started to think that this may help explain why he hated James so much....maybe he was abused because he wasn't pure-blood...maybe his father didn't realize that his mother wasn't pure-blood and took it out on Severus. And then seeing perfect, happy James would only serve to rub in the fact that he would never be good enough for his father.

Sirius....Severus....*sigh*
