we're not told how he signed it [maybe with a quill :-) ]
What does interest me - and let me say first that I avoid time-
turning theory threads like the plague - is why he insisted on
signing almost as an afterthought. I get the impression from the
scene that he seems to know that extra delay is needed in order for
the "future Harry and Co". to shift Buckbeak out of sight of Hagrid's
hut.
Or am I turning into a conspiracy theorist?
