Indeed, I  was so glad that in HBP JKR finally called the other 
teacher " master" and yes, I never heard him insisting on being 
called so in class.

OK, since I am providing some additional quotes, I am hoping that I 
am not doing complete " me too" post, Neri. :-)

I think Betsy meant this quote ( sorry, if I am wrong):

"There are no Wizarding princes," said Lupin, now smiling." - HBP,

But again, I agree with you Neri - I think "pureblood" does 
equal "nobility" in their minds and I don't remember that being 
disproved.
