I found your little thought experiment very intriguing, and the
Schroedinger's Cat analogy was downright brilliant!

My only problem with it is this -- Where does Lily fit into it all?
It's her protection that causes the AK to fail.  Would the same events
have played out if V had gone after Neville first?

Maybe the thing that redeems the prophecy is that it's self-fulfilling
-- It comes true if and only if V believes it.
