 You know, I think that in order to save the child from  such 
treatment, bribery will be quite MORAL thing to do, IF we look  at it 
in context, but of course that is just my opinion.

My question would be, if bribery and threats will really persuade 
an unwilling person, why wasn't Harry doing exactly as the 
Dursleys wished? Why wasn't Hogwarts completely controlled by 
Umbridge?
