But DD feared Voldemort was poking about in the recesses of Harry's 
mind.  If DD had written that note, what might VM find next time 
he 'got in'?  Harry thinking, "I must block this, I must master 
Occlumency, because then DD will tell me EVERYTHING".  If I were 
Voldemort and 'heard' that, I'd just lie quietly for a while; no 
more dreams until that glorious day arrived.

I'm not happy with DD's behaviour, but I don't think there's a 
simple alternative.
