Well, the Finnish translation leaves some names alone - but many 
surnames get a translation based on a meaning. You know, like Black - 
Musta. That's just it - a literal translation. Sirius was left alone.

That was a reasonable one as well. No Finnish word ends with two 
consonants - (ck in this case). Sirius OTOH does fit in with the 
language structure perfectly.

Another such is Sprout-Verso. Again, another literal translation 
required by the Finnish language. Finnish words may not begin with 
three consonants, and even two would be a strech.
