I haven't seen anyone else respond (all you people tired of Snape
posts, where are you?) so I will.

It's an interesting theory and you've made quite a case, but I can't
help thinking that it just isn't really necessary for the plot. 
There are enough connections between a headmaster and the various
founders - especially one who still seems fond of his own house when
he was a student - to explain the connections between Dumbledore and
GG.

Maybe other people will feel differently.
