I think the Sherlock-Mycroft post was in the back of 
my mind.  I agree that Albus' questioning whether 
Aberforth can read could be taken as an illustration 
of his eccentricity only.

Maybe Aberforth has a brazen head which will answer all our 
questions in book 7.
