Yeesh! There was one part of the prophecy, in particular, that puzzled 
me, but I think you have solved the puzzle. What you list as "3" is 
redundant. Why is it important?

And the answer is because there are choices. And the very action of 
Snape eavesdropping, being found, and being thrown out CHANGES the 
prophecy midway. But the series of the events re-affirms the prophecy, 
hence the next statement.
